Anatomy, Physiology & Rope model-Oriented Safety in Shibari – Lecture by Claudio Morandini
This workshop examines shibari through the lens of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, with a specific focus on rope model-oriented safety. The session explores how passive strain, sustained positioning, and externally applied forces affect muscles, fascia, ligaments, and peripheral nerves, highlighting injury mechanisms that differ from conventional traumatic models.
Participants will develop a clearer understanding of tissue behavior under prolonged load, the limits of pain as a warning signal, and the role of training and body awareness in injury prevention.
I’m Claudio Morandini: an Italian Physical therapist and Sexologist specialized in the rehabilitation of pain and discomfort in shibari and sexual practices, I practice in cooperation with Yugen Studio in Milan.
